H. Leslie Fowler, MD is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with additional specialty training in knee and shoulder disorders as well as minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery. Dr. Fowler is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

Dr. Fowler attended The University of Alabama on a football scholarship playing under Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant from 1973-1976. He attained Academic All SEC Honors as a senior. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from The University of Alabama with a degree in Biology, Dr. Fowler attended The University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama where he graduated with honors.

Following medical school, he completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. During his residency, he served as an Associate Team Physician for the Wake Forest football and basketball teams, as well as for the Carolina Thunderbirds, a minor league hockey team. An additional year of fellowship training was completed at the Hughston Orthopedic Clinic in Columbus, Georgia concentrating on knee, shoulder and arthroscopic surgery.

Upon completing his training, Dr. Fowler established his practice in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and has been a Team Physician for The University of Alabama since 1987. Dr. Fowler served as the Team Physician for the United States Track Team at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia. He also served as a Team Physician at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

A native of Hartselle, Alabama, Dr. Fowler resides in Tuscaloosa with his wife, Amanda, and five children.
